The Bookhabit Show Presents “From Horror and Crime to Strange Tales”

Nathaniel Hensley talks with Clare Tanner on The Bookhabit Show and shares how writing has been the central theme in his life, and even had a part to play in the courting of his wife.

Nathaniel has been dabbling in Fiction writing for years, and for the most part it was based in the gloomy and dark genres of horror and crime. As his writing evolved, he began to blend the two genres, considered an unconventional category. When his first daughter was born, he decided he wanted to write something adventurous and a little spooky that he could read to his kids when they got a little older. Inspired by the style of the Harry Potter books, he decided to write the type of book that younger readers, as well as their parents, would enjoy. Thus ‘The Strange Tale of Hector and Hannah Crowe’ was born. It is a stand-alone book that, if successful, will serve as the first book in a series.

Dating back to high school, he has worked in and around the journalism industry and written many features. He also has two freelance writing gigs – and for the last 5 years he has written a weekly movie column, reviewing DVDs for the local newspaper – the Gainsville Sun. Recently he started a “daddy blog” about his life as a stay-at-home Dad during the day raising his two daughters.
